Why Church? Why The Highlands?

Church isn't supposed to be some dry, lifeless, boring worship service. Church is a gathering of God's people. Wherever we meet, we're the church (or part of it). At The Highlands there is a special bond that exists between us because we all share God's Spirit, many of us share similar life experiences, but we're all on a common journey toward a shared mission.

We've found that we're stronger together than when we're apart. We also learn more from each other than we can on our own. We can do more for God when we work together than when we work alone. Our experience of God's presence in worship is greater and far more profound when we're together than when we're watching some TV preacher at home by ourselves. Let's face it, in the world we live in it's easier to be bad than it is to be good. We need the support, strength, and power to be all that God's calling us to be and the church is the gathering of God's people where that happens!!

It seems to us that "church" was on Jesus' radar screen when he was here. In fact, he even died for the church (check this out). Want a different experience of church? Check out The Highlands. We just might change your mind about what it means to be "a gathering of God's people!"
